According to John Maxwell, leadership is influence, nothing more and nothing less.

I agree!

One of the biggest misconceptions you may have is that you are not a leader. I get why you think that way, but it is a limiting belief that needs to be challenged.

You are already a leader in some capacity:

·      In your home, if you have kids, spouse, or significant other

·      In your office, even if you have no direct reports and are surrounded by peers

·      In your community, if you volunteer

·      In your school, if you spend time and connect with other people

Basically, if you spend time in any of the relationships above, or fill in your own, then you already are a leader – you just may not be acting like one yet.

Leadership is not restricted to those of a certain age, race, religious background, or political ideology.  Leadership happens when we stop settling on being influenced by others and begin to rightly influence others.

A fantastic book written on this idea is, How to Lead When You're Not in Charge: Leveraging Influence When You Lack Authority

It is my personal belief that you will never become the best version of yourself and thereby reach your preferred future, if you don’t first learn how to influence yourself and those around you.

I’d love to help you and/or your teams better understand how your unique personality, values, and emotional intelligence (EQ) create the best version of yourselves in both your professional and personal lives. Just click the Contact Jeff button above or email me at jeff@coachingwithjeff.com
